"Linus Torvalds, the creator of the operating system phenomenon Linux" This is false. Linus made the kernel, Linux is a kernel. Not an operating system. The pieces that help get Linux pulled up by the bootstraps are GNU. Not to mention Linus used GNU software to write Linux. Other individuals and organizations made the things that go on the Linux kernel, such as X and other daemons. Sorry, not trying to troll, that false statement just REALLY bothered me :)

To be fair, he didn't mention that the cheap hardware used in developing Linux by him and hundreds of thousands of other developers was made available by the popularity of Windows Did anyone wonder how computers became so popular, and consequently, cheap?

Consider how bleak computing would be today without the work of people like Linus Trovalds and Richard Stallman.
